Rancho Santa Fe, California

A small practice, west of the village.

Rancho Santa Fe is the one inland community here — both appointments are a drive toward the coast.

Every other town the practice serves sits on the coast road. Rancho Santa Fe does not, so both halves of this are a drive west: the consultation office at 1349 Camino Del Mar in Del Mar, and surgery at an outpatient surgery center on Paseo Del Norte in Carlsbad, further up the coast.

One surgeon, one office

This is a small practice by design. One surgeon, one office, and consultations long enough to finish the conversation. You see Dr. Vande Ven at the consultation, and you see her at the follow-ups — there is no rotation through associates.

In a community the size of Rancho Santa Fe that tends to matter to people. The practice is small enough that your care is not handed around, and appointments are not stacked.

Plan the drive home before surgery day. After general anesthesia you cannot drive yourself back, and an adult over eighteen needs to stay with you for at least twenty-four hours.

What happens at the consultation

Measurements first — base width across the chest, the tissue you have, where the fold beneath the breast sits, and any asymmetry between the two sides. Then sizers, so you are deciding from something you can see rather than a number on a page.

You will leave knowing what she recommends, what she would advise against, and what recovery would realistically mean for your work and your training. If what you are asking for is larger than your frame will carry, you will be told that.

The full clinical detail — implant type and profile, placement relative to the muscle, incision location, recovery week by week and the risks — is on the main breast augmentation page.

Common questions from Rancho Santa Fe

Where would my consultation be?+

At 1349 Camino Del Mar, Suite B, Del Mar — west of Rancho Santa Fe on the coast. Sizing, pre-operative and follow-up visits all happen there too.

Where does the surgery happen?+

At Carlsbad Surgery Center, an outpatient surgery center on Paseo Del Norte in Carlsbad, further north along the coast. You go home the same day.

Will I see Dr. Vande Ven herself at follow-ups?+

Yes. It is a single-surgeon practice — she performs the surgery and sees you at your follow-up appointments.

Can I drive myself home after surgery?+

No. After general anesthesia you need an adult over eighteen to drive you home and stay with you for at least twenty-four hours.
